What is venetian plaster?
Venetian plaster is a decorative wall finish that originated in ancient Venice and is known for its smooth, polished, and luxurious appearance. The technique involves applying multiple thin layers of plaster to a wall, which are then polished to create a smooth, glossy, and sometimes translucent surface. The finish mimics the appearance of polished marble or stone, and it can range from a matte, velvety texture to a high-shine, reflective surface depending on the application.

Why venetian plaster?
1
Natural Materials: Traditional Venetian plaster uses lime-based products, which are more eco-friendly and breathable compared to synthetic alternatives. Lime also has antimicrobial properties.
Texture and Depth: The finish creates a three-dimensional look, with depth and subtle shading, thanks to the layering and polishing process.

Durability: Venetian plaster is highly durable and resistant to cracking, making it ideal for both interior and exterior walls. It’s also resistant to mold and mildew because of its lime content.
Eco-Friendly: Since it’s primarily made from natural materials like lime and marble dust, Venetian plaster is considered an environmentally friendly choice compared to synthetic paints and coatings.

5
Aesthetic Appeal: Venetian plaster is highly prized for its ability to reflect light in interesting ways, creating a soft, glowing effect that changes with the angle of light throughout the day. This gives walls a dynamic, living quality.
